Not sure if anyone from class will be checking the blog this weekend as you prepare for the exam, but I thought I'd give you some tips here...
Make sure you go through your Physics test. Some of you didn't come pick it up from me yesterday, so you'll have to get it on Monday. The physics questions on the exam are very similar to the unit test questions. Get help from me on Monday morning if you need it. Remember to review the Belgrave Creek Study (your analysis of the results), the Ecology Issues Test, any labs that we performed in chemistry, and all your chemistry quizes and tests.
Good luck with your studying...remember you can relax after the exams :)

So, as you can see, I haven't been keeping the class blog up to date very well. I don't think many, or any, of you were checking it regularly anyway. I will try to update the blog as we go through these last couple of weeks of semester 1. There may be times when you need information at home when preparing for your exam. So, please check here often until your exam. Sometimes, I even give exam hints on here.....

Today, students finished their graphic organisers on types of chemical reactions. We then did a quick review of identifying types of reactions, predicting products and balancing chemical equations. There will be the opportunity to rewrite the two quizzes on these skills tomorrow in class. If you didn't do well on both of these quizzes, or just on one of them, you can rewrite both or one of them tomorrow. If you did as well as you'd like to, then don't rewrite them! If you want to do the rewrites, I suggest you study for them tonight so that it's not a repeat performance!
See ya Thursday :)

On Friday last week, and today, students worked on a graphic organizer on the types of chemical reactions. We will finish these tomorrow.

So far this week, we've been practising balancing chemical equations. We had a quiz on this today. It's clear that a few of you need to come and get some extra help on this topic. Many of you have mastered it. Great work!

This past week, students completed the lab on conserving mass and reviewed types of reactions. They also had a quiz on identifying types of reactions and predicting products. Challenge Day was on Wednesday for most students. At the end of the week, students began to learn how to balance chemical equations. There will be a quiz on this on Wednesday. Extra help is available on Monday and Tuesday at lunch this week.
